John's preaching of Jesus Christ as sovereign Lord and the Scottish couples' patriotic dislike of English repression led to the baptism of the Wiradjuri leaders, Simon Wonga and William Barak. And so Coranderrk sheep and cattle station was founded. A great success, the station outstripped surrounding properties in fertility, organisation and profitability.
