HAPPY Y2K +25 25 years ago we were all waiting for our computers to explode and the world to come to an end? Not only did those not happen (thankfully), the last 25 years have brought some amazing innovations that have changed the way we live and work. Four innovations that immediately come to mind are: WiFi, Smartphones, Online banking and Online search. And then five years ago, the pandemic changed the way many companies do business. My company went from producing popular in-person antiquarian book fairs and antiques shows to developing a platform that allows dealers and collectors of rare books and antiques to exhibit and "attend" a show without having to travel. I am pleased that the platform has received high marks from dealers and collectors alike for its ease of navigation and search abilities. Total sales from the shows run on the Getman platform just surpassed $12 million, making these the top virtual (online) shows of the several that have cropped up since we began almost 5 years ago. Here are two of our popular virtual shows coming in January along with some early listings uploaded so far: |
