| | Good morning. Not sure if you've heard, but some rather high-level chat messages were leaked earlier this week. But what many in the mainstream media missed was that those leaked messages revealed that Trump administration higher-ups are basically identical behind closed doors as in public. Plus, the Defense Department has been refashioning its strategies under the Trump administration. We dig into what they're up to. | |

| | ๐ WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | | ๐บ๐ณ The White House pulled Elise Stefanik's nomination for UN Ambassador. The Republican House Majority is razor-thin, and a potential upset in this weekend's Florida congressional races could reduce it even further. If Representative Stefanik (R-NY) had left the House to become the UN Ambassador, it would get even smaller โ possibly too small to pass any major legislation. Even with Stefanik saving the GOP one extra house seat, the thin majority possibly risks any easy Democrat takeover of the House in 2026. | ๐ค The House and Senate settled on the basics of a reconciliation plan. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) have agreed to pursue one bill in which all of President Donald Trump's agenda โ from taxes to border to energy โ will be included. However, they also announced that the bill would include raising the debt limit. This will help make the process move quickly, but it could also imperil its passage, as some Republicans, like Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), may not vote to raise the debt ceiling. | ๐ Mike Waltz's future is in doubt. After accidentally adding a journalist, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a Signal chat, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz blamed himself, and Trump expressed a desire to move on, saying that Waltz "learned a lesson." But yesterday, Trump clearly blamed Waltz and questioned why the media was trying to blame Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Trump likely wants to avoid appearing swayed by media pressure while making an example of Waltz, but he's also frustrated by Waltz's conflicting explanations that have kept the story alive. | ๐ A German newspaper found the private data of high-level Trump officials. Der Spiegel revealed that it uncovered passwords and other private data belonging to senior Trump officials, including that of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Hegseth, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The information was reportedly widely available online, including phone numbers and email addresses, highlighting how easily sensitive information could be found for these high-profile figures. The news comes at a tough time for the administration, shortly after the leak of the Signal chats. |

Some Republicans are furious. | | | WHAT'S HAPPENING | While much media attention has been focused on the Trump administration restructuring American domestic policy, the administration has been just as active in changing America's foreign policy as well.
