Watering the Tree of Texas History - Texas History Trust's 3rd Birthday
Expansion of our online research library in progress.
What are you watering?
Time flies when you're having fun. Texas History Trust launched on August 22, 2022 and because of your support, we've made the most of the past 1,095 days.
We've called out activist professors, are closing in on a million views on our history videos, and have kept you informed about what's happening in the Texas history world.
Most importantly, I think, are the seeds we planted with our Taproot Project. If you don't know what that is, it's our online Texas history research library.
We planted it, you watered it, and it has grown into tens of thousands of pages of source material on Texas history. It's free, easy to use, searchable and accessible from any device that connects to the internet.
When I see one of our sources cited in a book or a paper, my heart turns somersaults. I see the weekly stats that tell me people are reading and searching but the citations make those stats concrete.
It's cool when things work the way they were built to.
The expansion I've mapped out for the Taproot Project in the next six months includes history of Refugio County (and all the counties carved from it), along with documents pertinent to the Texian Navies and the annexation of Texas.
The Taproot tree is bearing fruit. Will you help to water it? From $25 to $25,000, every single donation helps to bring (and keep) additional important Texas books online for family and scholarly research.
Thanks to y'all for your support and words of encouragement for the past three years. It has been an epic, rewarding ride writing a new chapter in Texas history with you.
God & Texas,
Michelle
P.S. If you haven't taken Taproot for a test drive, please visit the online library here.
