The Husband's Authority (4 Ways Men Are Called to Protect Their Family) | For a long time, when I heard the word protection within the context of marriage, I thought it mostly meant physical danger.
Stepping in if something went wrong. Being strong when it counted.
What I didn't realize, until a couple of years after saying "I do", is that physical protection is actually only part of what my wife and family needed from me.
When I first learned that protection also meant guarding my mood, filtering my work stress, being present instead of distracted, and standing between my family and the constant noise of the world, something shifted. Not just in my marriage, but in me.
In this week's episode of The Catholic Gentleman, Devin and I talk honestly about what it means to protect your wife and family today. Not in theory. But in four very real, practical ways that most men were never taught, and yet are quietly responsible for every day.
Don't let the same misunderstanding I had keep you behind. Because when you miss this distinction, everyone in your family suffers. Merry Christmas, John
