Lake Perris, California
The 2026 OCR season officially kicked off at Spartan SoCal and it came out swinging. Lake Perris set the stage for the first Trifecta weekend of the year as Sprint, Super, Beast, and Kids racers stormed the course with fresh energy, big goals, and something to prove. Fast trails, fierce competition, and nonstop finish line moments made it clear from day one that this season is going to be one for the books.
San Francisco, California
Trail runners gathered in San Francisco for the Golden Gate Trail Classic, taking on distances from 15K all the way to a demanding 50 miles across some of California's most iconic terrain. Trung Tran celebrated his 50th birthday by absolutely crushing the 50-mile course. The courses wound through coastal trails and rolling hills with sweeping views of the Bay, combining dramatic elevation and rugged footing into a true endurance test. With challenging conditions and unforgettable scenery, the Golden Gate Trail Classic delivered a strong showcase of trail running at its highest level.
Dubai, UAE
Spartan took over one of the UAE's most iconic entertainment destinations for an exciting weekend of Sprint, Super, and Kids races at Dubai Parks and Resorts. Warm skies, fast pacing, and a uniquely immersive venue set the tone as athletes powered through obstacles surrounded by theme park energy. From competitive heats to family friendly festival moments, the weekend captured the spirit of Spartan with strength, community, and high energy racing at the heart of it all.
Pittsfield, Vermont
Last weekend, the Winter Spartan Death Race returned to Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont, delivering 48 brutal hours at the birthplace of Spartan under relentless rain, snow, wind, and subfreezing temperatures. Out of 20 registered racers, only one endured it all, with Tom Alguire standing alone as the sole finisher after navigating chaos, cold-water plunges, mental warfare, and nonstop suffering. It was a raw, unforgettable reminder that the Death Race isn't about speed or strength—it's about who refuses to quit when everything says stop.
