Hi there,
Mélanie here, Founder + CEO of Ghia.
February is almost over. New York in winter has its way of shrinking your world, but it also brings dinners that stretch long, candles lit before six, a playlist you let run all night. Here's what's been on my mind lately:
- The wind chill hit -11°C, but at least I managed a Roman holiday.
- I also slipped to LA for a friend's wedding and had a very good breakfast at Wilde's. Do yourself a favor and order the soft boiled eggs with onion bread soldiers. I also made my rounds at a few Whole Foods, where I am excited to see the first blood orange cans make an appearance. Escaping New York was nice, but Ghia never sleeps.
- I am binge listening to Diary of a CEO podcast, and read Heart The Lover in one fell swoop on my flight (no wi-fi made for a forced break). About books - pre-orders for signed copies of our cookbook are live at Books Are Magic. Pinch me!!
- It was my first Valentine's Day with my love. We played backgammon and made the simplest spritzes, which are also my favorites: 1 part Apéritif, 1 part Fever-Tree Club Soda. I also slow dried some orange slices in my oven to add as garnish. It's a big work year for both of us, but I cherish the slow moments whenever I can.
- My team and I have been recently collecting things that feel like Ghia, objects, exhibits, bars, etc. We shared the first edit in our newsletter this week. Do you love? Send us more!
- What has felt like Ghia lately to you lately? What's the best meal, the room you didn't want to leave, the glassware you can't stop thinking about, the concert you're dying to see? Let me know.
xx
Mélanie
