| | WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | | 𧱠Kamala backs border wall plans. After overseeing the largest migrant crisis in U.S. history as border czar, Kamala Harris's campaign has now stated they support building a border wall. This comes after her administration oversaw the sale of Trump's border wall materials and blocked states' efforts to mitigate illegal migration. | πΊ Harris campaign sidelines Walz. Her campaign has hesitated to put Vice Presidential pick Timothy Walz on television over fears he may struggle to present Harris's views on various issues. The campaign's messaging has been inconsistent, with no official policy sheet released to date. Harris and Walz will sit down together for an interview with CNN tomorrow. | ⚖️ Trump indicted again. Federal prosecutors under Jack Smith issued a revised version of the indictment against Donald Trump, accusing him of planning to overturn the 2020 election. Some charges were removed to help the case move forward, especially after the Supreme Court recently granted former presidents broad immunity for official acts during their term. | π World reacts to Telegram founder's arrest. French President Macron pushed back against claims that France was stifling free speech following the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who resisted cooperating with authorities on content moderation. The United Arab Emirates urged France to provide them access to Durov, who is their citizen. Tucker Carlson called the arrest "a hallmark of tyranny." |

| | WHAT WE'RE HEARING | Former President Trump has added former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to his transition team. Quentin Tarantino believes Kamala Harris should avoid interviews entirely, saying, "I'm going to vote for her anyway no matter what she says in the interview, so don't mess it up." New York Magazine's Jonathan Chait argues that Kamala Harris should do as many interviews as possible to reduce the risk of making big mistakes in a few. A Democrat strategist on CNN claims that burning the American flag is "patriotic."

| | IN THE LOOP | A House Oversight Committee is investigating claims that the Biden administration pressured a global medical recommendations organization to remove age guidelines for sex changes. A presidential debate on ABC has been confirmed for September 10th, with the same rules as the last debate: candidates will stand, microphones will be muted, and there will be no audience. Israeli forces announced on Tuesday that they rescued a Bedouin man during an operation in Gaza, more than ten months after he was captured during Hamas terror attacks on Israel. California lawmakers passed a first-of-its-kind law requiring public universities to hire undocumented students without work permits on Monday. When Kennedy endorsed Trump on Friday, he announced plans to withdraw his name from the presidential ballot in key swing states to avoid hurting Trump's chances. However, Michigan's rules will still keep his name on the ballot in that critical state. A federal judge in Texas temporarily blocked a Biden administration program on Monday that could have provided a path to citizenship for up to half a million undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens, siding with 16 Republican-led states that sued the administration. | | MY THOUGHTS | Did Zuck Take the Red Pill? | Good morning. Steaks, jiu-jitsu, and underground bunkers—it sounds more like the hobbies of a deep-red conservative than a Kamala-supporting liberal. | But it's true. Mark Zuckerberg has been raising cattle in Hawaii to satisfy his steak cravings, winning medals in competitive jiu-jitsu, and building an expansive underground bunker—ready for the end times. | Adding to the intrigue, he recently praised Trump's post-shooting fist bump as one of the most "bad*ss" things he's ever seen. And now, he's publicly admitted that the government's pressure on Meta to censor COVID-era information was wrong. | There's reason to think Zuck might be a changed man. But despite his talk about free speech, his actions have often told a different story. Even as he makes these statements, his platforms still work with fact-checkers to censor information—much of it conservative. | There's a group of Silicon Valley billionaires fighting for free speech and earning respect from Republicans. Zuck isn't one of them—though it would be nice if he were. | |
