Resolutions Are Easy. This Is Not.

I don't believe in resolutions. I never have.

Years ago, long before Spartan became what it is today, I spent a winter morning alone on my farm in Vermont. Snowing sideways. Fingers numb. No schedule. No accountability. Nobody would've known if I stayed inside. That morning reminded me of an ancient Spartan story I read years earlier about young boys sent into the wilderness with almost nothing, not to punish them, but to teach them who they were when comfort disappeared. Standing there, cold and tired, I realized nothing had changed in 2,500 years. The test is still the same.

Later, writing Spartan Up, I came back to that idea again and again: character isn't built when conditions are ideal. It's built when you could quit and don't. Every meaningful thing in my life — this company, my family, my health — came from moments (and lots of them) where the easy option was right there, begging me to take it.

If there's an easy option and a hard option, I already know which one wins.

Why This Year Has to Be Different

Most people chase comfort and call it discipline:

Look better
Feel better
Make life smoother

That's not a reset. That's a delay.

A Spartan reset is about identity:
I am someone who chooses the hard way.

Right now is the forge: The holidays are over. Winter still bites. The season is ahead.

Discomfort isn't a flaw in the system. It is the system.

The Simple Hard Way Reset

MOVE
One non-negotiable daily effort.

FUEL
Remove one thing that weakens you.

MIND
One mental rep that reminds you who's in charge.

Small. Hard. Daily.

Year of the Wolf

Wolves don't wait for perfect conditions. They hunt in storms. This season, Spartan becomes a pack again.

Your First Hard Choice

If you've participated in one of our events before and stepped away — reclaim it. If you haven't — choose your first start line.

Put one event on your calendar this week. Message me and tell me which one.

Burn the easy button. Reset.
