A decade ago, I definitely wouldn't have.
| Hey, | Part of my job, along with Ariel's, is tracking media hoaxes. Every morning, we go through the news, read full transcripts, track down original clips, and figure out what's actually true versus what you're being told. Our paid members receive a breakdown of false and misleading media narratives in every morning's brief — it's one of the things they tell us they value most. | The past few weeks of CNN's coverage have left me stunned. The dishonesty isn't even subtle anymore. | I sent you a message a while back about how I grew up on CNN. It was always on in my house. After weeks like this one, I genuinely cannot believe I used to take what they reported at face value. Their lies, at the end of the day, are what led me — a long time ago — to supporting Bernie Sanders. I'm thankful I eventually saw the truth. | Anyway, let me show you what I'm talking about. These hoaxes are pulled straight from the members' version of each daily brief. | CNN ran a profile on NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's wife, Rama Duwaji, framing conservative backlash as vague "scrutiny" over her "art and social media." The actual issue — which they buried almost entirely — is that she liked posts praising or expressing sympathy for terrorist groups like Hamas. CNN gave its readers almost no understanding of what the controversy was actually about. | CNN pushed a debunked story about a 5-year-old supposedly "snatched" by ICE. Sounds horrifying, right? Until you learn what they left out. Agents were actually going after the father, who ran and left the child alone outside. The mother refused to open the door to reunite with her son. The family's asylum claim had already been denied through the normal legal process. CNN didn't mention any of that. | ABC tried to pit TSA officers against ICE agents amid the partial government shutdown, running a segment highlighting that ICE agents were still getting paid while TSA officers weren't. They only interviewed a Democrat. No Republican was asked about it, because that would have invited the obvious point that ICE and TSA are funded through completely separate budget bills. | And then dozens of accounts shared a clip claiming a pastor connected to Pete Hegseth was calling for a Democrat to be killed and "crucified." That's a serious accusation. But the full clip makes it clear they were talking about spiritual rebirth — a standard Christian concept, referencing Galatians 2:20. That part was cut out. | You're on our free list, and a big chunk of what Ariel and I uncover — the deeper investigations, the full breakdowns — doesn't make it into the free emails. That reporting goes to our paying members, and their support is what keeps us running. No advertisers, no corporate backers. Just readers. | We're offering 15% off right now. If you've found this useful and you're in a position to support us, I'd really appreciate it. |

| | About 95% of our members stick with us. Whether it's the extra reporting or believing in independent journalism, they find it worth it — and we think you will too. | | Thanks for being here. | — Brandon |
