Quarterback rankings have dominated the conversation this offseason, but the sport runs on more than the players taking snaps. Wide receivers, offensive tackles, EDGE rushers and cornerbacks shape outcomes just as much, and Pete Nakos broke down the 10 most valuable non-quarterbacks in college football.
10. Indiana DT Tyrique Tucker
Tucker was one of the most reliable pieces of Indiana's national championship defense a season ago, leading all Power Four defensive tackles with 12 tackles for loss. Keeping the James Madison transfer in Bloomington another year was a top priority for Curt Cignetti.
9. Texas WR Cam Coleman
Cam Coleman was the top transfer prize of the January portal cycle, picking Texas over Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Alabama. He posted a team-high 708 receiving yards at Auburn last season, and now he joins a Longhorns receiver room built around Arch Manning.
8. Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy
Kewan Lacy set single-season program records at Ole Miss with 1,567 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, finishing top three nationally in both categories. Keeping him and quarterback Trinidad Chambliss in Oxford was a major win after Lane Kiffin departed for LSU.
The final seven names only raise the stakes, with two of the most dominant players in the sport holding down the top spots. Nakos has the full breakdown below.
