At the request of a fair number of y'all, I spent the week scaling down some of the Press's most popular prints, working up some new ones, then making sure each one is legible and still packs a punch at a more manageable size. During this marathon graphics/print session, my mind meandered through the ways I might present these to the world. The pitch is obvious: meaningful Texana that doesn't take up half your wall. Every map and print I've designed for nineteen years was made with the goal of making them as big as Texas. This is a new range and it needs a name. "I'll call them Texas Minis!" thought I, staring at the stack of 9 x 12" prints on my desk. And then I laughed so hard I sneezed, for reasons I can't explain away with my basic knowledge of human anatomy. I realized that only in the Texan mind would 9 x 12" be considered miniature. It's funny when you catch yourself being so overtly Texan. The initial selection of Texas Minis covers some good ground: important Texas documents, portraits, and sacred sites.
