Hi,

Last year I shared with you a story of being at the Enervit production facility in Italy on the shores of Lake Como when I saw these gels in all silver packaging. No branding.

What's that I asked. Silence. Then one word. "Tadej".

I said. "Can we get those?" No longer silence and a spirited conversation in Italian with the kind of hand gestures you could imagine. The response: "No possible."

Well I didn't like taking no for an answer and finally got them to ship us pallets of Secret Gel. Sold out immediately and was one of the top 3 gels of last year.

Now we've just received Tadej's 2026 gel.

At last year's Tour de France, Tadej used a new gel for the first time — well, not totally new. Same gel, he just wanted more electrolytes. So Enervit added 200mg of sodium.

I asked them why not more, but Enervit said that Tadej is using 3 gels per hour so that is 600mg of sodium per hour. Plus his electrolyte drink (Enervit Isotonic Drink) which has 233mg of sodium and he was consuming 1.5 bottles per hour. So that was 950mg of sodium per hour, matching perfectly his sodium loss per hour.

The new flavor is also Neutral for the Electrolyte Gel. Which I'm a big fan of.

We only have 20,000 of the new Electrolyte Gel. So get them fast. There are more coming, but they are on a boat and won't be here for another month. So grab these ones now.

Beyond cycling. I'm a big fan of electrolyte gels, especially when running where you may not have a bottle with you and you are under-fueling electrolytes. SaltStick chews have been a great solution for the added sodium, but getting it in the gel you are already taking is even more convenient.

Grazie mille, Tadej!
