BREAKING NEWS |
Last night at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, there was what appears to be another assassination attempt against President Donald Trump. A 31-year-old California teacher named Cole Allen was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives, rushing past a Secret Service checkpoint inside the White House. One agent was struck by Allen’s shotgun blast but was saved by his bulletproof vest and is expected to recover. |
The president was rushed out of the White House and is safe. There are no injuries reported among the attendees. |
We will have more reporting in the coming days as this story develops. |

QUICK STORY |
Hungary’s new leader moves to dismantle Orban’s legacy |
Incoming Prime Minister Peter Magyar has outlined sweeping reforms after winning a commanding parliamentary majority, pledging to realign Hungary with the European Union and reverse key policies of populist right-wing Viktor Orban. Even before taking office, Magyar signaled major shifts in foreign policy, including backing EU aid to Ukraine, halting Hungary’s withdrawal from the International Criminal Court, and calling for renewed energy cooperation through the Druzhba pipeline. |
Magyar has also moved aggressively on domestic reform, proposing term limits for prime ministers and demanding the resignation of Orban-aligned officials across the judiciary and government. He has vowed to overhaul state-controlled media and unlock billions in frozen EU funds, while maintaining a “pragmatic” stance toward Russia. And while Magyar is still considered to be a center-right politician, he recently came under fire for appointing an LGBT activist as the new Minister of Education. |
Viktor Orban was one of President Trump's closest European allies and campaigned alongside JD Vance ahead of his re-election bid — and lost anyway. On the European continent, Trump is running low on populist-right figures he can trust. |
